How can guests post a same EVENT TITLE that is posts before, example one week?! It is possible to post the duplicate eventtitle

I’m not sure why I added the duplicate title filter. Maybe there was a conflict with something. I will do some testing and see if I can find a solution.

    Hello!

Great plugin and a really usefull extention! I now have a problem that might have started when I downloaded the latest version of the extention and installed it. I now can’t save any changes in the “Quick Event Manager Extensions – Guest Event Settings”. I’ve deleted it, and reinstalled it. I’ve even deleted the database entries. All I get is the “Are You Sure You Want to Do This” error when i try to save. When locking into the database again I realise that the options are not created there anymore after I deleted it. So I guess it has something to do with the database and your updated extension. Or?
    Hope fr some help.
Best regards and many thank you!

I’ve continued testing the plugin and now I know at least something more. The error comes when I click the box for “Moderate all guest events before publication.” and then tries to save the settings. The rest seemes to work as before. I really like this option and hope that it can be fixed again.
      Take care.

Hi Graham, I changed the user to subscriber and still the event went straight into the calendar without me approving. Is there a tick box or something I’ve missed. I’m using this with Users Ultra lite, would that cause a conflict? Thank you for your time. Sarah

Hi, love this plugin, but has a quick question, a member with ‘author’ status used it to create an event, the event published automatically without me approving it, have I done something wrong because I would prefer to approve the events before they went live on the website.

    Thank you
    Sarah

      Hi Sarah,
I can add an option to moderate every event but events are just like normal WP posts, authors have permission to publish posts so they automatically get permission to publish events.

    • Sarah on 07 Oct 2015:

Thanks Graham for your quick reply! Should I change the user permission then so it won’t post automatically, there isn’t a specific reason they are an author. Thanks
      Sarah

  5. Gary on 27 Jun 2015:

Would this work with the WordPress “post via Email” feature? I’m looking for a way for a (specific) non-wordpress member to post an event to the calendar without getting involved in the WordPress interface.

    Thanks again – I’ve become a fan!!

      Hi Gary,
Glad you like the plugins. They have developed over the years because of many requests for additional features and nor seem to be quite popular. I don’t think it’s possible to build an event and post by email. Custom fields would need to be properly configured in the email body and the dates published at unix timestamps – and according to the plugin author they don’t support this.

    Hi Grahm,

    Fantastic Plug In !!!

I have installed both the Event manager and the Guest plugin on my site and i am testing them now, so far all works excellent.

    I have a question though:

under the Guest events Settings there is a checkbox that says:

Submission creates new user (subscriber) and allows them to edit their own Events

Where exactly can they edit their events at/from ?

    Reply to Stick Man

    • Graham on 19 Mar 2015:

      Hi Stickman,
If you have ticked the box guests editors will be sent an email with their WordPress login details. If you look at your users list you should see all the guest editors. If you can’t it means something has gone awry. When the new user logs in they will be able to see and edit the event they created. They can’t publish though, only admins can approve guest events.

I’ve just tested everything and it all works fine. I submitted an event and got the thanks message. I then checked my email for the login details. When I logged in I got to my profile and once approved I could edit the event.

      However…

There is a bug in the main plugin which messes up the author permissions. I will send you an update to test which fixes this bug.

    • Stick Mann on 19 Mar 2015:

      Thanks for the quick reply,

my setup is a little less conventional, as i am using the classipress theme by appthemes, also, I am testing it with an existing test account and the admin account, so I need to know if you have had any issues or settings that I should check regarding existing users, I personally would rather it only be available to existing users, also I noticed an “Event Manager” which I tested with the test account and still so no editing options on the front end.

I am looking forward to receiving the test patch

      Thanks again

I downloaded this file and after that got “Encrypt File System” icon showing up on the taskbar. The extracted folder also changed it’s color to green.

      Hi Syed,
I’ve just downloaded the file without problems. I saved it to my desktop and didn’t see a message on the taskbar. There isn’t any encryption, it’s just a bunch of zipped php files. Where did you save the zip?

    Hi,
This is just what the doctor ordered right here! I am downloading the Quick Event Manager right now and would love to have the Guest Event Plugin as well. Also, I just upgraded to WP2015…do you have an estimated time of when you’ll have an update ready for the GEM?

Thanks so much and great work.

      HI Da’Ron,
I’ve just sent you the plugin. As far as I know the plugins should all work on the latest version of WP and the 2015 theme so there shouldn’t need to be an upgrade for this.

      Hi Gavin,
It’s already part of the plugin. Everytime someone submits a guest event you get a moderation email. I’ll send you over a copy of the plugin later toaday – there is a tiny bug I need to fix first.
