A Site for WordPress Plugins

One Page Themes

imageA while back I would have advocated a standard site layout: header, footer and content in between with a sidebar on the left or the right. But things have changed, people use phones and tablets to browse the Internet and they scroll rather than click. So I had a bit of a rethink and came up with a theme that was built for touch screens but works equally well on a desktop. It still has a header and footer but there in no sidebar and the homepage is a long scrolling page of content. There will be those who complain about the lack of a sidebar but my answer to them is: change the way you do things. Don’t sit in front of a massive screen and build a site that suits you, pick up your phone and build a site that works for someone browsing on the train or in the pub.

My solution is a one page scrolling theme.

If you want to have a play it’s got its own site: The AerinOne Theme.

Some of the features are:

  • Selectable homepage content
  • Background images on the whole site or individual pages
  • Image slider with optional overlays
  • Text toggles
  • Social media Icons
  • SEO and analytics functions
  • Fully responsive
  • Colour and layouts customisations

Plus lots more options on the theme settings.
